Nedra Robinson, a former teacher and current education consultant, wants to see Crowley ISD become a renowned school district across the state and nation for the great work it does for students.

A mother of two, Robinson also wants to see CISD increase student achievement and to highlight where students are already excelling, helping to boost pride within the district.

Robinson is excited about several things happening in CISD, including the hiring of a new superintendent, the growth in the Crowley area and the district’s MyChoice Programs.

“Parents want choices now, and students do too,” she said. “We are going beyond a cookie-cutter experience, and that’s great for students and families.”

The shift in demographics also is a wonderful thing, she said. “Embracing different cultures and experiences and lifestyles is great for student learning … whether it’s teachers or their peers.”

Education is important because it can change paths for families and children.

“No matter what life throws at you … if you have an education, no one can take that from you,” she said.

With 15 years of experience in education, including seven years as a teacher in Fort Worth ISD and one year as a teacher in Crowley ISD, Robinson now works as an education consultant, assisting low-performing schools and helping coach teachers.

She left teaching to focus on policy and public administration, working as a deputy district director for a Texas state representative to help impact policy at the state level.

Robinson has a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UTA.

“I am accessible and transparent,” she said. “Come talk to me any time.”

Fun Fact: Robinson grew up in the military, attending seventh through ninth grades in Turkey.
